Videos wont show on websites?

Any website that I go on,the videos wont show up (Besides Youtube). What does show up is a outline of what I want to see and a little box in the upper left hand corner with either shapes or an X in it. I have Internet Explorer (Yeah,It's old I know. I can't download a new browser. My computer has my dads old account [That's an admin account] on it which forbids downloads like browsers...) Ive already tried Doing this - Tools>Internet options>Advanced> And checking Show animations and images. But it doesn't seem to work. I also tried - Tools>Internet options>Security>And clicking Reset all zones to default Level. That doesn't work either. Please Help! Serious answers only please.
