Car Stalls briefly while turning?

I have an 89 buick park avenue and recently the check engine light occasionally will come on. A few times my car briefly stalled while making a right turn while i was considerably low on gas. I got a scan done on the engine light and it came up dtc 42, and the guy was thinking it may be the control engine module. I was wondering if the engine light and the stalling are most likely related, and if it is the module if it is necessary i get it fixed right away, or if i can continue driving it. thanks, brent.
