Contractions with hot flashes every twenty minutes?

About four days ago I starting having contractions every now and then but with each day they become more constant and closer together I also get them with terrible hot flashes and my heart pounds hard and fast with a few. But today has been the worst so far im 36 weeks now now and I am also having these weird feelings like I want to cry with flu like symptoms the past few days also. Everything is just getting so weird and I didn't feel any of this with my first cause she was breach so she was a scheduled c-section. Im so new to all this and I just need some advice. Will it be soon I called my doctor this morning but she only said to wait and call when they were closer but she never said if it would be soon or not but she said to relax and it could be around the corner.
